	DISASTER PREPAREDENESS: The City of Pasadena lists several links with some very useful information. For instance, what to keep in an emergency kit and how to care for your children and pets. The Fire Department recommends that all residents sign up to receive emergency notifications through "PLEAS" - Pasadena Local Emergency Alert System. In case of an emergency, alerts would be sent directly to your cell phone via text or by voice message. In the wake of large-scale disasters throughout the world, the Pasadena Fire Department reminds all residents to be prepared for the type of disasters and emergencies that could affect Southern California. 	ORANGE HEIGHTS CRIME WATCH: Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program which enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement in order to help reduce crime in their neighborhood. The best defense against crime is getting to know your neighbors and working together. This is essential to assist the police officers to fight crime by recognizing and reporting suspicious activity. The representative will review what is happening with crime in Orange Heights, what sort of crime we're experiencing and how we can work together to prevent it. 	CRIME STOPPERS: An anonymous tip line that enables anyone to provide police with valuable and timely crime information via phone, text and the Internet. Tips can be related to suspected burglary, cyber crimes, extortion, assault, homicide and other crimes. Tipsters can also receive possible cash rewards. There are three ways to provide information 24 hours a day, seven days a week about crimes that have been committed in Pasadena: By phone – Call (800) 222-8477 and just leave the information. By text – Enter the numbers 274637 in the “To” line, then type the word TIPLA, a space, and as much specific information as possible. After hitting “send,” Crime Stoppers will reply to the text with a code that should be kept for use if further text dialog is needed.
